The Melfort Mustangs have acquired 2004-born forward Alex Mack from the Drayton Valley Thunder in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) in exchange for a PDF.
“Alex is a player with high end skill and goal scoring ability. He showed that in U18 AAA, ranking second in the league in goals,” said Mustangs Head Coach and General Manager Trevor Blevins. “We’re excited to see what he can do in our forward group.”
Mack, a 6’, 168lbs forward out of Edmonton, Alta., has played in three games with the Thunder this season, being held off the scoresheet.
Before puck drop last season, Mack signed a WHL Standard Player Agreement with the Prince Albert Raiders where he played two games last year. Mack spent last season with the SSAC Athletics U18 AAA club in Edmonton, scoring 24 goals and adding 12 assists for 36 points in 34 games. His 24 goals were tied for first on the team and tied for second in the entire AEHL, while his 36 points were good for third spot on the team, and tied for 16th in the league.
In 2020/2021, Mack spent the COVID-shortened season with OHA Edmonton Prep, tallying four points in five games.
The Mustangs welcome Alex and his family to Melfort!
