Mustangs add Warkentine in deal with Whitecourt

The Melfort Mustangs have acquired 1998′ born FW Drew Warkentine from the Whitecourt Wolverines, in exchange for 1997′ born FW Vincent Beaudry and a Player Development Fee.

Warkentine a Prince Albert native, has played the last two seasons in the WHL with the Prince Albert Raiders. He’s scored 5 goals and added 6 assists in 87 games. Drew played his Midget hockey with the Tisdale Trojans of the Saskatchewan Midget AAA Hockey League from 2013-2015. He scored 42 goals with 44 assists for 87 career points in just 86 games.

Warkentine now joins fellow former Prince Albert Raider teammate Loch Morrison on the Mustangs roster. He is expected to make his Mustang debut play Friday vs Humboldt.

The Mustangs would like to thank Vincent Beaudry for his time in Melfort, and wish him the best in Whitecourt with the Wolverines!
