Mustangs Release 2017-18 Schedule

THE SJHL AND MELFORT MUSTANGS HAVE RELEASED THE 2017-18 SCHEDULE

The Melfort Mustangs along with the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League have released the 2017-18 SJHL schedule.

The Mustangs will play a balanced schedule similar to last year, with 28 home games taking place at the Northern Lights Palace and 28 more on the road. The annual SJHL Showcase will be held in the early part of the season in Warman with the Mustangs playing 2 games (1 Home, 1 Road). The Showcase Schedule along with the Exhibition Schedule will be released at a later date. The Mustangs will play a total of 58 games this year (28-Home 28-Road 2-Showcase).

The 2017-18 season kicks off on September 15th with the Mustangs hosting the Nipawin Hawks. The teams return to Nipawin to close out a home and home in Nipawin the following night. The season comes to a close on March 6th in Flin Flon.

The longest stretch away from the Northern Lights Palace will stretch over 4 games and will happen twice this year. The first road trip of the season starts off in Nipawin on September 16th and wraps up on the 29th of September back in Nipawin. The other 4 game swing has the Mustangs start in La Ronge on December 6th and end in Kindersley on the 16th of December.

The longest stretch of games at the Northern Lights Palace will be just 3 games but will happen three times over the course of the season. November 2nd to November 10th. November 25th to December 2nd as well as February 23rd to February 28th will see the Mustangs not leave home ice.

The Mustangs will meet the SJHL Champion Battleford Northstars for the first time on October 20th in the Battlefords.
