Mustangs welcome Ice Wolves

The Melfort Mustangs will look to get back in the win column tonight and halt a four game losing skid when they host the La Ronge Ice Wolves. Game time is 7:30pm from the Northern Lights Palace.

The Mustangs(10-3-2-1) have stumbled a little as of late. Following an 8-0 start to the season the Mustangs have now seen themselves go 2-3-2-1 in their last 8 games and are just clinging to the lead in the Sher-Wood division over the Nipawin Hawks. Last time out the Mustangs dropped an ugly 7-1 decision to the Weyburn Red Wings, in a game where they started out strong. Put together a decent first period, but took the foot off the gas a little in the second and Weyburn took advantage. Now they look to flip the ship around and get pointed back in the right direction. For now they hold a 5 point lead on Nipawin for the Sher-Wood Division, the Hawks however have 3 games in hand.

The La Ronge Ice Wolves(2-11-0-1) come into tonight’s contest having also been bounced by the Weyburn Red Wings recently. Last night Weyburn jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and once again rolled to an 8-2 victory.

Puck drops tonight at 7:30pm at the Palace. If you’re planning on attending get your tickets online, and skip the lineup! It’s easy to do and only takes a minute at tickets.melfortmustangs.com. Following tonight’s game Melfort is off for the weekend. Next up they will split a home and home with the Flin Flon Bombers on Wednesday and Thursday next week.
