RONDEAU NAMED SHERWOOD NOMINEE FOR DMAN OF THE YEAR

Mustang Alex Rondeau has been named the Sherwood Division Nominee for SJHL Defenceman of the Year!

Rondeau, from Drummondville Quebec, is in his second season with the Mustangs. The 1999-born Dman just broke the 100 regular season games played mark with the team and is on pace to finish with 108 in two seasons. Tack on 16 playoff games from last year and Rondeau is as solid as a defenceman as there is in the SJHL.

Despite missing a month of hockey around Christmas Rondeau still managed to put up 10 Goals and 23 Assists for 33 Points, in just 43 games. Setting career highs in goals, assists and points in the process.

“We are very proud of him. This recognition is very deserving and his performance speaks for itself. Alex is an all around Defenceman who plays both ends of the ice very well.” Head Coach Trevor Blevins said. “His improvement over the last two seasons is a testament to his work ethic and commitment off the ice.”

Rondeau is up against the Battlefords Matthew Fletcher and Estevans Devan Harrison for the award. The winner will be announced within the coming week!

The Mustangs would like to congratulate Alex Rondeau on being named the Sherwood Division Nominee for SJHL Defenceman of the Year!
