Mustangs pick up win #20 in La Ronge

The Melfort Mustangs rolled to a 4-1 victory over the La Ronge Ice Wolves last night. With the win Melfort picked up their 20th win of the season moving their record to 20-5-4-1.

The La Ronge Ice Wolves opened the scoring last night with Daniel Chartrand scoring his first goal as an Ice Wolf is his first game. They would take a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.

In the Second it was all Mustangs as Colin Schmidt would score his 10th of the season. After a great move along the boards he walked right out and ripped one home. Carson Albrecht would then score his 10th of the season on a 5 on 3 Power Play. Albrecht had a great lane to shoot and he made no mistake putting it under the bar. Reed Gunville would round out the period scoring as he would tip home a Adam Hergott point shot on the Power Play. The Mustangs would take a 3-1 lead into the third.

Rock Ruschkowski would put the cherry on top in the third, scoring his 5th of the season making it a 4-1 game in the process.

Evan Plotnik would get the win in net allowing just one goal. His shot’s are yet to be determined as the online scoring from La Ronge has yet to be finished…

The Mustangs have some time off now as they don’t play until Tuesday in Yorkton. It’s a 7:30pm start.
